About me and the site:

Photography is a hobby of mine that consumes my time outside of my career as an outdoor educator and instructor.  My home on wheels has allowed me to explore much of the American west but I tend to orbit most closely to Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and the Desert Southwest. While I enjoy many forms of backcountry travel, over the years I have found myself most inspired by expedition paddling and exploring self-support packraft routes. The "trip reports" section of this site is intended to inspire and help others plan their own expeditions. Whether on ski, foot, or by boat, my experiences in the backcountry have shaped who I am, and I hope that my work as an educator and photographer can ignite in others a passion for wild places.
